Dr Ellingson has treated thousands of patients with advanced macular degeneration and has extensive knowledge in all treatment options available. He has performed over 12,000 treatments of macular degeneration each year, preserving and improving vision for many of his patients.
There are many sources of inflammation in the eye including autoimmune, infection, and cancer. Dr. Ellingson’s training included diagnosis, management and treatment of many causes of inflammation. He has managed hundreds of patients with multiple stages of uveitis using eye drops, ocular injections and oral medications.
As a fellowship trained retina specialist, Dr. Ellingson is specially trained to managed many ocular complications from vascular disease such as retinal vein and artery occlusion, ischemia, hypertensive retinopathy, aneurysms and neovascularization.
Diabetes is one of the fastest growing threats to vision loss in the United States. Recently there have been several new medications that can be used to delay and even reverse the effects of diabetic disease in the eye. Dr Ellingson is specialty trained in managing and treating diabetic eye disease. He has performed thousands of laser therapy sessions and treatments for diabetic retinopathy. Additionally he is surgically trained to repair the most advanced stages of diabetic eye disease. He has performed hundreds of surgeries in eyes with advanced diabetes, saving vision for many of his patients.
